Welcome to the BIRTHDAY CAKE BALL by Mothers Dana & Bożna Elle

This is no ordinary night — we’re celebrating a birthday!

We know you’ve been waiting for this ball — and so have we!

Tonight, we honor the roots of ballroom culture, born from the brilliance and resilience of Black and Latinx trans women and queer folks who created a world where self-expression means survival, pride, and power.

This is a tribute. This is a celebration.
Let’s walk, let’s connect, let’s celebrate, let’s let our fantasy run free — and of course, let’s bring the joy!

🎂 CATEGORIES 🎂

European Runway (MF, FF, GNC + Overall)
🍰 Leveled-Up Layered Birthday Cake
Inspired by towering wedding and birthday cakes. Serve height, drama, and structure — think ruffles, cascading fabrics, exaggerated silhouettes, and luxurious layers. Bring volume and elegance. Don’t forget the candles!

All-American Runway OTA
🧣Red Velvet Eleganza
Red as sin, smooth as haute couture. Your silhouette should speak luxury, finesse, and undeniable class. Inspired by the iconic Red Velvet, a symbol of passion and sophistication. Give us texture, structure, and a color that says: I came to serve the FASHION.

Baby Runway  OTA

🥞  Pastry of Your Choice
Pick your favorite pastry and transform it into a fashion fantasy! Muffin, éclair, mille-feuille, or macaron — whatever you crave. Your look should instantly show which treat you represent — through colors, shapes, textures, and details.

A MUST: Bring a real pastry reference. Show us where your sweet inspiration comes from.

🧸Baby Vogue - Haribo Fantasy
Choose one gummy bear color and go full monochrome (shoes not included). Think translucent textures, sugar-like shine, and cute shapes. Fashion-forward and fun!

Bizarre
🎊 Piñata - Exploding Fantasy
Candy-Coated Extravaganza Meets Surreal Madness! Step onto the runway like a living piñata —  not just colorful, but bizarre and unpredictable. Let your body "explode" with color, texture, and form, as if you've just been ripped open — and inside? Maybe something unexpected…

Best Drag Look
🌟Zoriane Siajwo Starlight Ukrainian Candy Girl

Inspired by Dana’s Favorite Ukrainian Candy! A shimmering classic in purple and red wrapping - somewhere between a celebration and a childhood treasure. Your drag look should be just like that candy: elegant, shiny, and touched with a hint of futuristic charm. Think floral motifs, satin, foil-like sheen, retro glamour, and sweet extravagance - all served in high fashion.

Face (Women, FQ, MF, GNC, Drag)
✨Happy Birthday, B*tch
It’s your birthday, you’re the whole celebration. Face beat to perfection: highlight like frosting, glitter like sprinkles, and glow like a candle. Serve birthday fantasy, shine, and slay — it’s your party.

Old Way
🍋 Lemon Tart Eleganza
Inspired by Bożna’s favorite dessert. Silhouettes that blend structural precision and sweet elegance. Think lemon yellows, meringue whites, and golden accents like a perfectly baked crust. Maybe pleats that echo meringue swirls, or a structured corset shaped like a tart tin? Precision, style, and grace — a deliciously crafted fantasy.

New Way
🍬 Gummies
Soft, springy, sweet — but with a bite! Inspired by gummy candy: colorful, shiny, flexible. Think latex, vinyl, silicone, sheer layers, and high gloss. As if popped out of a candy mold.

Hands Performance vs. Arms Control
 Pastry Chef with a Prop

Hands like a pâtissier’s tools — quick, precise, and full of finesse. Serve a look like a couture pastry master: apron chic, puffed sleeves, and sweet details straight out of a French patisserie. Think candy colors, scarves, bonnets — elegance with a sugar-dusted twist. A prop is a must! Whisk, spatula, sifter, piping tool — anything you can wield with flair and movement. Make it fashion. Make it fantasy.

Performance (Women, FQ, Drags, BQ, GNC + Overall)
🧁 Cupcake Cuties

Cute, soft, and playful — like miniature versions of full glam. Think pastel colors, oversized bows that bounce with every move, puffy sleeves, and whipped cream-inspired frills. Adorable, but always with a hint of attitude. Outfits should feel as fluffy as whipped cream, with ruffles like creamy clouds and sweet, shiny pearl details that add a touch of sugary magic.

Fashion Killa
🍩 Donut
Your silhouette and accessories should echo the shape of a donut: rounded forms, circles, rings, and ruffles that resemble icing — even shiny elements mimicking sticky, sweet glaze. Use visual details that suggest gloss and stickiness — latex, patent fabrics, sheer materials, sequins, or glitter that imitate fresh glaze.

Body

🍦 Melt Down (Models/Fitness/Luscious)

It’s July — and it’s hot. Just like it will be at our birthday ball. Channel the chaos of an ice cream cone in the sun. Let the inspiration drip from your skin like ice melting in the heat, and let your body speak the language of summer meltdown.

Sex Siren (FF, GNC, MF)
🍫 Chocolate
Serve rich, decadent, and irresistible. Dark, sultry, and smooth. Think brown satins, glossy latex, cocoa-colored lingerie, or shimmering body oil. Give mouth-watering heat. Your look is pure sex appeal: shiny, smooth fabrics that resemble melted chocolate, deep browns, and chocolate hues that wrap the body like liquid pleasure. The styling must radiate sensuality and confidence — lace, latex, velvet, glossy details, and dramatic cuts that sculpt the silhouette. Show that you’re sweet, like chocolate, you can’t resist.

Realness (FQ, BQ, Transman, Drag)
🎉 Bestie’s Birthday
A look straight from real life — you’re just stepping out because your best friend’s birthday is happening, and you need to look cute without trying too hard. It’s not a gala, but it’s not sweatpants. Think street style meets effortless, with a dash of your personality. Maybe a crop top, maybe a bomber jacket, platform sneakers or kitten heels — a look that says: “I’m here to celebrate and look good.”

Commentator vs. Commentator
Birthday Wishes for Dana & Bożna

This is no ordinary commentator battle. This category is also about celebrating the birthdays of Bożna and Dana, two parent figures of our community. As a commentator, you must weave personalized cunty birthday wishes for Bożna and Dana into your 10s.

Best Nails
🍬 You Robbed the Candy Store

Your nails tell the whole story — sticky, shiny, covered in sugar, and absolutely guilty.

You just escaped from a candy heist, and all the loot is right there on your fingertips.

Nail styling should be over-the-top, sweet, and fun: gummies trapped in acrylic, 3D lollipops, glittery glaze, colorful sprinkles, candy rings.

Make your hands look like mini candy shops — the more details, the better.

What is a ballroom?

Ballroom culture was created by African-American and Latinx LGBTQ+ communities in the 70 in New York City. It comes from the culture of Drag Queens, who used to meet at underground balls in Harlem where they competed with each other in many performative and dance categories. Since then, balls have become an inclusive and safe space for free expression for queer youth of color. In addition to many categories related to performance and dance (Voguing), the ballroom is characterized by the creation of alternative family models such as House, vocabulary, music, or its own social hierarchies such as Icons, Legenda, Statements, and Stars.

Ballroom Culture is a safe(r) space that prioritizes QTIBIPOC. Please be mindful and respectful of who the space is for. Before stepping out on the runway, please get to know the ballroom history and the rules of a given category. If you have any questions, please contact us here: balubozeny@gmail.com

And remember!

Any form of discrimination will not be accepted during the event. If you feel that your safe space has been violated, report it to the security and event organizers.
